Textures from Stereo-based IR Imaging for Industrial Tire Insp

چکیده
A conceptual system to produce 3D thermal models of tires for tire inspection and defect characterization is proposed. The system uses registered range and thermal information to build highly detailed 3D models using either a volumetric or meshbased approach. To achieve this goal, two narrow bandpass filters are used in conjunction with two IR cameras to obtain the true temperature of the target body. The thermal information is then translated to texture data and mapped as an overlay onto a 3D model. The textures are realizable through the use of three-component texture maps that include rgb values to specify the texture coordinates in the (s,t) plane. The objective is to generate a movie loop depicting a tire endurance test so that an operator may analyze potential tire defects through texture characteristics that appear as a thermal signature changing dynamically with time.

متن کاملCloud Top Height Comparisons from ASTER, MISR, and MODIS for Trade Wind Cumuli
ASTER stereo and ASTER infrared (IR) retrieved cloud top heights (CTHs) at 90 m spatial resolution are compared to operational Multi-Angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) stereo and MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) thermal IR techniques at 1100 m and 5000 m spatial resolution, respectively. ASTER data availability limits this study to trade wind cumulus clouds only. ASTER ...
متن کاملNew Pseudo-CT Generation Approach from Magnetic Resonance Imaging using a Local Texture Descriptor
Background: One of the challenges of PET/MRI combined systems is to derive an attenuation map to correct the PET image. For that, the pseudo-CT image could be used to correct the attenuation. Until now, most existing scientific researches construct this pseudo-CT image using the registration techniques. However, these techniques suffer from the local minima of the non-rigid deformation energy f...
متن کاملPhotogrammetric Calibration of the SwissRangerTM 3D Range Imaging Sensor
Many robotic and industrial systems require 3D range-sensing capabilities for mapping, localization, navigation, and obstacle avoidance. Laser-scanning systems that mechanically trace a range-sensing beam over a raster or similar pattern can produce highly accurate models but tend to be bulky and slow when acquiring a significant field of view at useful resolutions. Stereo cameras can provide v...

A model-based texture recognition system which classifies image textures seen from different distances and under different illumination directions is presented in this paper. The system works on the basis of a surface model obtained by means of 4-source Colour Photometric Stereo (CPS), used to generate 2D image textures as they would have appeared if imaged under different imaging geometries. T...
